Warm and snug in the winter, cool and comfortable in the summer, we offer a luxury grooming service at your door, with an emphasis on the health, safety, and comfort of your pet.

Frequently asked questions

• Does my dog have to be up to date on his vaccinations?

  Yes, you will need to provide a copy of your pet's rabies and vaccinations, along with your veterinarian's name and phone number. This is protection for your pet.

• How often should I get my pet groomed?

  On the average, dogs should be groomed every four to six weeks. This depends on the owner's ability to do daily brush outs, your pet's breed, coat and how often your dog is outside.

• Does frequent bathing harm my pet's coat?

  No, veterinarians will encourage you to have your pet groomed on a regular basis. High quality shampoos and conditioners help relieve dry, itchy skin. A variety of shampoos are used such as medicated, tearless, whitening, and hypoallergenic.

• My dog sheds all the time, any help for that?

  Yes, de-shed the coat during and after bathing which reduces shedding.

• My dog is really, really matted, what can you do for him?

  A relaxing, pain free grooming experience is offered. If severely matted, a 'shave down' using the longest length blade will penetrate the mats. It is more humane to cut down the coat than to de-mat heavily matted coats.

• What type of products do you use on my pet?

  Premium shampoos and conditioners designed specifically for pets are used. If you prefer your pet's shampoo, you can provide it.

• How do you know your exact arrival time?

  An open window of 30 minutes for arrival time is given. If unable to arrive within that window, you will be called. Please make sure your dog is taken out to potty before arrival.

• Do I have to be home for you to groom my pet?

  For the first or second time, yes. When both your pet and the groomer feel comfortable with each other, arrangements can be made for grooming without your presence.

• What if the client needs to cancel their pet's appointment?

  Notify 24 hours in advance so the time slot can be filled with another client's pet. If less than 24 hours, call the cell phone to save a trip. If you do not call to cancel, a $50.00 cancellation fee will be assessed.

• What happens when Barking Style needs to cancel an appointment?

  On rare occasions, cancellation may occur due to weather, road conditions, equipment/van breakdowns or personal/family illness. Every effort will be made to contact you in advance to reschedule.

• What about No Shows?

  If you are not home when the groomer arrives for your scheduled and confirmed appointment, a $50.00 No-Show Fee per pet will be assessed.

• What type of payments do you accept?

  All grooming fees must be paid at the time of service by cash, check or charge. A $25.00 fee for returned checks will be charged and must be paid before another appointment is made.

• Is mobile grooming more expensive than shop grooming?

  Yes, usually around $20-30 more per pet. For that extra money, you get convenience of not making 2 trips and waiting 4-5 hours. Your pet benefits from a less stressful environment with no barking dogs, cages, or wait time.

• Do you need to plug into my electric outlet or use my water?

  No, the van is a completely self-contained unit with warm fresh water and grey water tanks on board. Grey water will never be emptied on your property. An inverter/generator provides all electrical needs.

• Do you have evening or weekend appointments? What about an emergency appointment?

  Off-hour appointments can be scheduled if the situation requires it. There is an extra charge of $70.00 per pet for this accommodation.
