Frequently asked questions

  • Can I book just a nail trim?

We don't offer nail trims as a standalone service, but they're always included in our full-service dog grooming packages.

  • What vaccines are required?

For the safety of your pet and our pet groomers, we require a current rabies vaccination for both dogs and cats. Proof of vaccination must be provided before your first appointment.

  • Why do you charge by time?

We charge based on time because no two pets are the same. Coat condition, behavior, breed and pet grooming needs all affect how long an appointment takes for both dogs and cats.

  • How far in advance should I book?

Booking 4 to 6 weeks ahead is best, as our schedule fills up quickly. To make things easy, we suggest setting your next appointment before we leave your driveway.

  • Is there a cancellation fee?

Yes—cancellation fees help us manage our schedule and avoid lost time. Canceling or rescheduling with less than 48 hours' notice results in a $50 fee per pet. If no one is home and we can't reach you within 5–10 minutes, it's considered a no-show and a $100 fee will apply before rebooking.

  • Do you only service houses?

We do pet grooming at houses, condo's or apartments. Our fully equipped vans require safe, accessible driveway, street or parking lot parking.

  • How much does mobile dog grooming cost?

The cost depends on your pet's size, breed, coat condition and location. Most appointments range for $90 – $150. We're happy to provide a custom quote based on your pet's specific needs.

  • How long should a mobile pet grooming session take?

Most dog grooming sessions last between 1 and 2 hours, depending on your dog's size, coat condition and temperament. If your dog needs a specialty cut or has behavioral concerns, the appointment may take a little longer.

  • How often does my dog need pet grooming?

How often your dog needs pet grooming depends on their coat type, activity level, and how fast their hair grows. Most pups do well with pet grooming appointments every 4 to 8 weeks.

  • Is mobile pet grooming safe for my dog?

Yes, mobile pet grooming is a safe and gentle option for your dog. Mobile grooming avoids the loud, crowded spa, and lets you access calm, one-on-one care just a few steps from your front door.

  • Do you provide pet grooming for cats?

Yes, Primped Pooches offers mobile pet grooming for cats. Cat grooming appointments include a bath, nail care, ear cleaning, and a sanitary trim or light shave if needed.

  • How often should cats get pet grooming?

Most cats benefit from grooming every 6 to 12 weeks, depending on coat type and how well they tolerate brushing at home.
