Frequently asked questions

• What does it mean to be AKC S.A.F.E. certified and what does it mean to the customer?

The AKC S.A.F.E (Safety, Assurance, Fundamentals, Education) certification shows commitment to upholding best practices in health and safety while grooming services.

• How often should I groom my dog?

Most dogs benefit from grooming every 4-6 weeks. Pets need hair brushed, nails trimmed and ears cleaned regularly to ensure health and maintain shiny coat.

• Won't frequent bathing ruin my pet's hair?

Not at all, if done properly. They use highest quality shampoos and conditioners made specifically for pets. Pets have lower pH than humans, so specialized pet products maintain healthy and shiny coat.

• Do I have to stay on a schedule?

They recommend clients stay on 4-6 week schedule to maintain health and appearance of pets.

• How quickly can I get an appointment?

They get booked quickly because they only do one dog at a time plus travel time. Booked at least 5-7 days in advance. Depending on season, may be booked 1-2 weeks in advance.

• Can you clip or shave my double-coated breed?

They do not clip or shave double-coated breeds. Shaving can make them hotter, shed worse, have skin problems, expose to sun. Best thing is bathing, brushing, grooming every 4-6 weeks.

• What types of payment do you accept?

They accept cash, credit cards, Zelle, CashApp, and Venmo.

• Is there a cancellation policy?

No cancellation policy. They understand things come up and rely on clients to give 24 hours notice to reschedule or cancel.

• Can I be in the van with you when you groom my dog?

Generally not a good idea. Dogs do much better without owner present. When owner is present, dog focuses on getting attention and may not sit still, making grooming dangerous and time-consuming.

• Why aren't prices listed on your website?

Pricing depends on size, weight, hair type, and frequency of grooming. Pricing varies within and between breeds. All prices are estimates until day of appointment.

• Why can't you give me an exact price when I first contact you?

If they haven't met your dog, they give price range anticipated. Once they arrive, they see coat condition, length, and behavior to finalize price based on factors affecting duration.

• Do you groom large dogs?

Yes, Ricky specializes in large and xlarge dogs. Van equipped with Ultra-Lift electric table that lowers nearly to floor and holds 250 pounds, and 3-side splash tub.

• Can you de-mat my dog or cat rather than shaving it?

Perhaps. They have patience and skill for de-matting with proper equipment and products, but put pet's happiness and comfort first. $25 extra charge for de-matting due to excessive matting.

• Why does mobile grooming cost more than shop grooming?

Mobile grooming offers personalized one-on-one service with only one dog at a time. It's premium service designed to reduce stress and be convenience for you.

• Do you groom cats?

Yes. Most cats do fine for grooming. Rayza has lot of experience grooming cats.

• How long will the groom take?

Varies, but basic service grooming package takes 45-120 minutes depending on breed. Haircut service takes 80-120 minutes. They go with dog's flow and do not rush.

• Do you need to hook up to my electricity or water?

No. Truck is fully self-contained with own power and warm water supply. They carry extension cord as backup but should not need to use it.

• I have two dogs that need grooming, can I have a discount?

They offer $5 off as multiple pet discount. Clients on old pricing scale prior to March 2022 do not qualify.
