Frequently asked questions
-
Do you require proof of Vaccinations?
Yes, WA State requires your dog be current rabies vaccination.
-
Do you groom all breeds?
I groom small sized dogs only.
-
Don't you answer your phone?
During the day I'm either driving or grooming. By not answering the phone the groom is not interrupted. I answer texts and phone calls between grooms and at the end of the day.
-
How much does the grooming cost?
Most grooms fall into the $120 to $160 range. An average small dog in a short trim will be $120, longer and more fluffy all over $130-160. Depends on size, coat condition, clip, and special needs.
-
Do you take credit cards?
Yes. I take Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, checks and cash. (I do not take Zelle or Venmo)
-
How often should my dog be groomed?
I recommend your dog be on a standing schedule of 2, 4 or 6 weeks depending on coat length, clip and home maintenance. Regular standing appointments ensure your preferred time slot is reserved.
-
Do you have specialty shampoos?
Yes. Deep cleaning, hypoallergenic, flea shampoo or smell neutralizing, all included in base price. All products are all natural, environmentally friendly and made specifically for dogs.
-
Do you groom Doodles?
I cannot accommodate larger Doodles on my small table, and I'm currently full on Mini Doodles.
-
Do I have to be home while you're here?
For the first visit, yes. After that we can make arrangements for latch-key access by key or garage code. Dogs must be confined to crate or one room. I ensure potty breaks and text updates.
-
Can I watch?
Unfortunately, no. Having the owner nearby can be a huge distraction for a dog which can increase the chance of injury.
-
Do you need to use my water or electricity?
No, my mobile van is completely self-sufficient. All I require is a fairly flat place to park with no low branches or wires.
-
Will you come to apartment complexes?
Yes, but I will need to clear it first with the management of your complex.
-
Are there any breeds you don't groom?
I am unable to accommodate any large dogs such as Huskies, German Shepards, Samoyeds, and Rottweilers.
-
My dog has bitten other groomers in the past, will you still take him?
No, I am unable to take aggressive dogs. Being a solitary groomer, I must be hyper vigilant about biting dogs. If aggression shows during groom, I will end the session and full price is due.
-
Do you groom puppies?
Yes! They are my favorite to groom. I specialize in teaching puppies the process, so they will be fine with being groomed for the rest of their lives.
-
I have a super energized dog, how do you groom that?
I love the high energy dogs! After twenty four years of grooming I'm used to the spinning, jumping, jerking, happy, crazy liveliness that comes from high energy dogs.
-
Do you groom cats?
I love cats, but I do not groom them.
-
How do I make an appointment?
Contact me with a phone call or text @ 253.431.3279. I'll ask your address, breed/size of dog, age, desired clip, and last professional groom date.
-
What About Fleas?
If I see fleas I will use flea shampoo, but it has no residual effect. Fleas require $40 add-on charge for fogging/debugging. Tell me in advance so I schedule you last for the day.
