Frequently asked questions
-
What is mobile grooming?
We come to your home in our state-of-the-art mobile grooming van and groom your pet inside the van within steps of your home. The one-on-one attention is better for your pet.
-
Will I be able to meet the groomer?
Yes! At this time, the owner, Kim Thomas, is doing all grooms. She will answer any question you may have prior to the groom or right beforehand.
-
What products do you use?
We use 100% natural products used by the best groomers in the industry, free of detergents and safe for your pet.
-
Is my dog or cat ever put in a cage?
No. We fluff dry your pets with a towel and with our warm air dryer from start to finish.
-
Do my pets need to be vaccinated?
Yes, proof of rabies is required.
-
What if my pet is matted?
Mats damage the fur and dematting can actually make it worst. Dematting is a long, and many times, painful process. Mats need to be removed as they hide skin conditions like infections and make the skin irritated.
-
How much does mobile grooming cost?
Every pet is unique and their grooming requirements all differ. We can provide a quote. They typically start at $85. Cats start at $85-$100 depending on condition of coat and health and temperament.
-
Is your van warm during cooler months and cooled during summer months?
Yes, we have a generator which powers our air conditioning, fan and heaters.
-
Do I need to be home?
Only during the initial visit. For subsequent grooms, you don't need to be home. We can prearrange alternate means of entry by either a keycode or key.
-
How long does the groom take?
Anywhere from 1 hour to 2 1/2 hours. Time is based on your pets breed, size, condition of the coat, hair length and service.
-
Can I watch while you groom my pet?
We'd be happy to show you inside our van; however, for the safety of your pet and insurance liability, we do not want to run the risk of your dog being injured. Pets become very excited when they see their owners.
-
How do I make an appointment?
Via our on line scheduling tool. Clients that schedule every 4, 6 or 8 weeks have priority. We do not accept cats on a non-recurring schedule of every 4-8 weeks.
-
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, our mobile service is fully licensed and insured.
-
How often should my cat be groomed?
Long-haired cats: every 4-6 weeks. Medium-haired cats: every 6-8 weeks. Short-haired cats: every 8-12 weeks.
-
Do you offer de-skunking or flea baths?
At this time, we do not offer de-skunking as we need a few days to get the skunk oil scent removed from the van. We are unable to provide other pets which follow the appointment with a guaranteed fresh and sanitary spa experience.
-
Do you do express anal glands?
No. We consider this to be a medical procedure and the vets we have relationships with have confirmed this, as well.
